Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the trans-himalayan district of Lahaul & Spiti (Himachal Pradesh) is home to a sizable population of this most enigmatic wild cat. We explore the high frozen valleys of Kibber for the elusive Grey ghost. Winter provides us with the best opportunity to sight them.
Apart from the snow leopard, we can get to see/photograph other mammals viz Himalayan Red Fox, Himalayan Ibex, Blue Sheep (Bharal) Some of the birds seen here in winter - Golden eagle, Lammergeier , Himalayan Griffons, Himalayan snowcock, Rosefinches, Mountainfinches, Tibetan Snowfinches, Accentors, Chukar. Alpine choughs, Green winged teal, Guldenstatdts’ redstart.
