Good catch — that solves the dead-end problem with zero maintenance: viewers finish a page and flow into other work from the same collection without a manual button chain. One thing to check before you rely on it: whether it respects your collection's ordering or just surfaces images arbitrarily. If your portfolios are deliberate sequences — and given how you think about presentation, they likely are — "related images in random order" and "the next image in the narrative" are different experiences. Worth a quick test with a viewer's eye: does it feel like turning a page, or like being handed a shuffled deck? If order turns out not to matter for your sets, then Adobe Portfolio now covers everything on your list and the decision gets simple.
